Happy Birthday

When trying to think about what you would have liked most for your birthday Dad, I kept coming back to thinking about time we spent together, and how much you liked Yogi Berra and Mark Twain - so, for your gift this year, I thought I would share some of their quotes that I thought you may enjoy. I miss you so much dad, but I love you so much more! Happy Birthday to you!

missing you

Hi dad - I am at work and found myself looking at your picture here at my desk and wanted you to know how much you are still being missed. I make sure to tell your grandkids all about you whenever possible and do my best to not think of you as "gone" but instead all around us and influincing me daily. I love and miss you dad!

Love,

Gabe

I love you dad

I recently had a tattoo finished and I wanted to share it with you dad. I share your enjoyment of coins, not to the same extent, but it's there none the less. You gave both Emory and I your favoirte coin, the silver dollar with "Walking Liberty". So this is the one I chose for my tattoo, and I honor you with the year of your birth. Also, we planted a tree for you at the farm, and I included the leaves from that tree, carried away with the smoke. I love you so much dad, and I miss you greatly.

Happy Birthday Dad

Happy Birthday Dad. I miss you so much. You used to make a pancake breakfast for everyone in the neighborhood on your birthday, and it made you so happy to feed everyone. I was thinking of doing that to celebrate you this year, but didn't get around to it. Hopefully I will do it next year. This weekend we spent on the Cape, and I thought about you a lot as I gazed out onto the ocean.

Here is a picture of you and grandma. You always tried to visit her around her birthday, and I know that if you didn't make it, you were thinking about her. I am thinking about you today.

Love Anica
Happy Birthday Dad! I miss you SO much, but love you SO much more!

We think about you all the time and continuously ask ourselves "What would dad do in this situation?" We wish we had so much more time with you and we send our Love and Wishes with you.

Happy Birthday Dad,

Love,

Gabe, Andrea, Emory & Lily

"True you ride the finest horse I have ever seen
Standing sixteen, one or two, with eyes wild and green
And you ride the horse so well, hands light to the touch
I could never go with you no matter how I wanted to

Ride on, see you, I could never go with you
No matter how I wanted to
Ride on, see you, i could never go with you
No matter how i wanted to

When you ride into the night without a trace behind
Run your claw along my gut, one last time
I turn to face an empty space, where once you used to lie
And look for a spark that lights the dark
Through a teardrop in my eye

Ride on, see you, I could never go with you
No matter how I wanted to
Ride on, see you, i could never go with you
No matter how i wanted to"
-Christy Moore

Whenever I hear this song, it makes me think of you, Dad. It is a very good song, and now whenever I hear it, I can't help but think of you. I miss you. Ride on, Dad.

I miss you dad. We just bought a new house (new to us), and just thinking about the things we want to change, update, or fix makes me want to talk to you about it. You would have such great ideas and be able to answer my questions about how to do things or what to buy. During one of our recent recent phone calls you said we should invite handy friends over and cook them dinner or something. I am sure we will take you up on your advice.

Love and miss you,
Anica
