He loved puns and jokes

My dad loved playing with words - he would come up with all sorts of puns and jokes about common phrases, and would ponder out loud about how "butter flies", "frost heaves" and "bread sticks" (and as Claire will tell you, he conducted a test and determined that bread in fact, does not stick). My mom read us the "Little House on the Prairie" series when we were little, and I remember talking to my dad about how Mary came home in one of the chapters. We spent quite a while talking about how someone could travel in a chapter....One that recently came to my mind: What would you get if everyone in the country had a pink car? A pink carnation! I most certainly miss the jokes, goofiness and stories.
